"Oh, Cameron! You incompetent little brat!" Maria cried out and stomped her foot. She pounded her feet until she was standing in front of the overly spoiled (unfortunately) roommate of hers. "Why are you so goddamn stubborn? It's not like we're going anywhere far! It's just that new godfangled store down a few blocks." Maria was getting increasingly annoyed. If he was going to act this way, she would retaliate.

Cameron shied at Maria's yelling for a moment before practically jumping up to his full height. "You're the one who couldn't take a second to just tell me where you're going before blatantly trying to drag me into coming!!" He was yelling back. He felt stupid. He wasn't even angry.

"You don't need to know where I go! You're not my parents! And you were complaining of how you didn't want to be cooped up! JESUS," Maria said, having to now look up at the human giraffe. "I'm just trying to shed that one piece of kindness I actually HAVE! If you aren't going to appreciate it then be bored! But I will not tolerate my time being wasted," and with that Maria jerked Cameron's arm so he would move slightly away from the chair. When he did, she attempted trying to push him towards the door. Goddamn, he was fucking heavy. Maria's feet started to slip a little each step she took to push this excuse for a human. Of course, like the little shit he is, Javert watched from the safety of his cage, munching on some seeds.

Cameron, being a stubborn child, didn't budge, or fight against Maria's pushes. She threw open the door and continued to push him. Any further, they would both tumble down the stairs. "FINE!" He announced. "Fine, just. Let me get my shoes on." He put his shoes back on and slipped on his jacket, and went willingly with Maria.

Finally getting out of the front door, (storefront door), Maria popped open the giant umbrella that would serve as protection for Cameron and herself. She was still pretty angry that this big galoof had wasted her time, but triumphant that he finally agreed to go. She passed the handle to Cameron so he would hold the umbrella for the both of them.

Cameron took the handle from her and made sure she wouldn't get wet as they fell into step.

Maria recited her list in her mind, trying to recall what was on sale. "Is there anything in particular you'd like tonight?" she asked while returning the stare of a nearby cat lazily spread on a porch. It didn't seem to mind the rain.

Cameron blinked a raindrop from his eyelashes. "We need some olive oil? And I want some girly boxed wine." He reached his hand in his pocket, sighing from relief when he had his wallet. The boy thought he had forgotten it in his being hurried.

"Haha, that cheap boxed fruit juice?" Maria mocked. "Well, if you pay for it yourself, get whatever you like. I might get a bottle of Blossom Hill myself now that I think about it." The new red and blue storefront was visible now, and Maria was looking forward to her drinking plans tonight.

"Nah. It has to come in a box. It's the novelty of getting pissed off cheap wine." The pair approached the sliding doors and Cameron took down the umbrella and shook it off, they entered the store. It still smelled of paint.

The store was bustling with new customers and employees. Maria had to sidestep a few stocking carts. Out of her eye though, Maria noticed the olive oil Cameron wanted. "How about this; you get the wines and I'll get the groceries. Come find me when you're done," and with that she set off in search of ingredients for dinner.

"Oh. Okay." Maria had already gone. What had she meant by that? Also, where was the wine? These were important thoughts. He wandered around the shop for what seemed like ages. He couldn't find the damn wine aisle. He pulled out a rich-boy phone and texted Maria, I cant find the wine!!!!!!!!!!! He sent it, and looked up to find that he was in the right aisle. He sighed, and grabbed the nearest two boxes of Franzia, and set off to find Maria again.

Maria had just finished putting a slice of cambozola into her basket, when she saw out of the corner of her eye Cameron approaching her. She looked at what was in his arms, and sighed. "You didn't manage to think to get me some Blossom Hill did you?" Maria saw a stray cart off to the side of an aisle and pulled it up. "Put those in here, your arms'll get tired and then you won't be able to hold the umbrella on the way back." She finished transferring the items from her basket to the cart.

"I thought you said you just had some? Do I have to go back? I don't know how to get back..." His sentence trailed off as he began to speak more to himself. He placed the boxes of liquid in the cart.

Maria rolled her eyes. Of course he wouldn't fucking know, he's a dimwit. She started to push the cart down the same direction she saw Cameron coming from.

Cameron had to jog a little to catch up to Maria and the cart. "I'm sorry?" He said as he caught up.

"Hm? I didn't say anything," she replied eying the signs above for wine or alcohol or something.

"No, I'm apologizing, even though I'm not sure if i should be." He cursed himself, when he realized that Maria was looking at the signs. He didn't think of that. What a dunce he is. In his attempt to catch up with Maria's furious searching, he bumped into someone, or someone bumped into him. He couldn't tell. "Excuse me," he said apologizing.

Maria had successfully located the wine aisle and left the cart with Cameron. It didn't take her very long to track down the section of Blossom Hill. She looked them over and decided upon getting two bottles instead since it was 5% off the purchase with two. She placed a red (soft & fruity) and White Zinfandel into the cart. "There, I think we should be done. I got erry'thin' didn't I?" she asked Cameron in case she overlooked something.

He glanced down at the now full cart. He didn't know what they needed in the food department. He saw that there was his wine and some olive oil he knew they needed. "It looks like it to me." He reached into his pocket and found nothing there. His face contorted into a quizzical, asking where the heck his wallet went. "Maria," he said with urgency. "Where is my wallet." He checked all his pockets before running a hand through his hair, stressed. "I knew I had it when we left the shop..." He racked his memory.

Maria widened her eyes in concern. "Goddammit, Cameron, you better be joking!" she harshly whispered. "I swear to god if you make me pay for all this by myself I'm going to friggin'..." she said, letting the last 3 words turn into a mumble while she checked the ground. Seeing no sign of a wallet, she looked down the main aisle they came in from. There wasn't anything there either. She quickly turned to Cameron. "Did you leave it on a shelf? Or did you bump into a stand or something?" she questioned quickly.

Cameron paled. "I did...bump into that person...shit." He rubbed at his forehead for a second. "Do you think he stole it?? My health card was in there..."

Maria scouted out a nearby worker. "Excuse me sir, but it seems we have lost a wallet. It's my friend's here," she gestured to Cameron. The worker questioned him of what it looked like and what was inside.

He was put on the spot. "Uh, it's just a grey and black checkered wallet. It has some ID in it, Cameron Huttlestone?" He explained lamely. "It might've been stolen." The worker quirked an eyebrow, clearly Not Having Time For This Shit. "If it was stolen, then there's nothing we can do. Sorry," they said sarcastically. "Great," Cameron replied, also sarcastically. "Thanks." He sighed.

Maria furrowed her eyebrows. "Well, sir, he did say MIGHT'VE. That means he also might've dropped it somewhere, and it could have been kicked. Maybe a proper employee would make an announcement about something like this or check in if there's been a wallet found," she barked in rather angrily. "Or I might as well talk to the manager of this place about the poor service already. You have just opened you know."
The employee glared at Maria, but off he went to check in with his fellow colleagues and make an announcement. He couldn't have his new boss fire him already; this was the first fucking day of work!

"Yeah, sure. Shaddup," she said rather disinterested in Cameron's comment. Maria just wished that they would find his fucking wallet already; she was getting rather hungry. "Maybe you should try to be a little more assertive," she added, trying to keep her mind off food.

"Yeah...I'll...keep that in mind," he said sarcastically. It felt really wrong to be mean or practically yell at people, at least, to him. That's why Cameron liked Maria. She was the assertive side he did not have, as well as being a good employee. And his friend, of course. "What is that? Over there." He pointed. "Is that my wallet???" His voice raised with giddy excitement, he practically galloped toward it, long legs flying. Very ungraceful. He picked it up, and lo and behold, his wallet. Only his cash was missing. "Maria I found it!!!" He called back.

"Are you kidding me you little shit? REALLY," she said rather loudly, heading towards Cameron in disbelief. "Jesus fucking christ, it was there the whole time? I feel like an idiot." She put her hand to her face and dragged it down in exasperation.

"I swear it wasn't there the whole time," Cameron says, trying to play innocent, "Okay, maybe it was, but I didn't see it!! At least I can pay for your stupid food now." Food. Who needs food.
